Review: P.S. I Killed My Mother by Stephanie Campbell

Today, I'm reviewing a wonderful YA novel by Stephanie Campbell, P.S. I Killed My Mother. First, though, let's learn more about this wonderfully talented author.

About the Author: Stephanie Campbell had her first book published at the age of seventeen. Now, at twenty-one, she is still wacking away at her computer, one day at a time. When she isn't reading or writing, she likes to dance, take karate lessons, and run. After all, you never know when you're about to be sucked into another world.
Blurb: Whitney has been abused all of her life. One day, when her mother hits her, she fights back. Unfortunately, her actions lead to the death of her mother. Whitney grows so frightened of what she has done that she is forced to cover up the crime. Soon, as the police begin to track down the murderer, Whitney is forced on the run and her life changes forever.

Review: Whitney Cooper kills her mother. Years of physical and emotional abuse at this woman's hand have driven Whitney to a…

Take Chances - School Violence Aftermath

Welcome to today's Tuesday Blog. Take Chances is my book of this week. My motivations behind this book are as powerful as the story it tells. I am a parent of children ranging in age from their forties to eighteen. One of my biggest fears was that one of them might experience this nightmare. Luckily, they didn't but they can't help but be affected by the shootings they've seen on the news or heard about from various sources. For so long I would ask myself how does one cope with this situation? What happens afterward? How does a person move forward after such terror? The normal aftereffects of such a situation have been examined until most of us can repeat them in our sleep. The flashbacks, bad dreams, invasive thoughts, numbing emotions, feelings of guilt, worry, and depression are normal. Then I ask myself is there another way to deal with these feelings than the accepted norm? What else can a person do to overcome the memories of a f…

In Where U @, Trea loves the music of Shy-Anne Horvorka. This song becomes what Trea leans on after a texting and driving accident. Too Young, Too Late - Shy-Anne Hovorka 100,000 accidents every year are the result of texting and driving.
